Didn't Get Drawn at Bandon Dunes? Book a Golf House Instead
Where to stay near Bandon Dunes when the resort lodging drawing doesn't go your way
Published · By Dennis McKenna

Some things in life are inevitable: death, taxes, and not being picked in the Masters ticket lottery. Now there's a fourth. If you want a room at Bandon Dunes in 2028, you have roughly a 12% chance of being drawn. October 12th begins first notifications for early 2028. Ironwood Bandon Golf House offers a private place to stay nearby.
Where to Stay: Bandon Dunes Lodging
The courses are why you come. Where you sleep decides whether the trip is just a string of rounds or a stay you book again. You have three choices.
On the Resort
This is the golf plan, if you can get in. Rooms are now handed out by drawing. By outside estimates, about 52,000 entries went in for 2027. Most who enter never get a number, and only the early numbers are called while good dates last.
Your odds depend on the season. Winter is the kindest: roughly a 1-in-8 to 1-in-12 chance of a number early enough to use. In peak season, June through October, that drops to about 1 in 25, or worse.
If you're drawn, the perks are real. Resort guests pay less per round and get the tee times before 10 a.m. Off-property golfers can still book a full year ahead from 10 a.m. on — no drawing, at a premium.
The rate on the website is not the rate on the bill. Summer 2026 singles are listed at $380 to $410, and a four-bedroom Lodge suite or Grove Cottage at $1,800 to $2,300, before taxes, fees, and add-ons.
Nearby Rentals and Motels
Motels in Bandon are about twenty minutes out, priced by the room, with nowhere for the group to sit. Closer houses sleep four to sixteen — two queens to a bedroom, shared baths, a rate that climbs by the bed. Useful for a headcount — not a stay you'd book without the golf.
Ironwood Bandon Golf House
Ironwood Bandon Golf House. Five minutes from the bag drop. One group. The whole house. Four king suites with their own baths, plus a four-bed bunk suite — perfect for 4 to 8 golfers. No two-queen rooms, no shared baths, no per-bed charge.
The standard you know from a Four Seasons — except the recap of the day is at your own fire.
Book your stay, then book rounds a year out from 10 a.m. on. No lottery, no line number. If your dates are open, your odds are one in one.
Reservations open for stays beginning October 1, 2027. Book direct.
